Dr. Surya Kant to edit prestigious Allergy Journal

Lucknow: In the recently concluded elections of the Indian College of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology, renowned chest disease specialist Dr. Suryakant has been elected to the post of editor. This organization is the country’s premier organization in the field of allergy, asthma and immunology, which is committed to promoting research, education and medical innovation. Dr. Suryakant has been selected for the editorship of the prestigious journal of this organization ‘Indian Journal of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology’.

The organization organizes various programs in allergy and immunology, in which general physicians are also trained in the field of allergy. The organization is committed to promoting scientific and educational cooperation with other global and regional organizations. Along with this, this organization is publishing various educational materials such as journals, books, magazines and patient education materials. Nationally and internationally renowned chest disease specialists, physicians, ENT, ophthalmologists, dermatologists and allergy specialists and scientists are also members and fellows in this organization. Dr. Suryakant is already a member of the advisory/editorial board of more than 20 national and international journals. Dr. Suryakant said that giving international form to this Indian journal, increasing its quality and providing research papers and latest information to doctors, scientists and research students in the field of allergy and asthma will be his priority.

Dr. Suryakant’s expertise is reflected in his role in many prestigious positions. He has previously been the National President of the Indian College of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology, Indian Chest Society, National College of Chest Physicians (NCCP) and Medical Science Division of Indian Science Congress Association. Along with this, he has also been the President of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Lucknow, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh IMA Academy of Medical Specialties and General Secretary of Indian Study Against Smoking. Currently, Dr. Suryakant is the Chairman of the Zonal Task Force (North Zone) of the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program, which includes six states and three union territories. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer and a member of the Institute and Governing Body of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna and the Board of Management, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur.

In the elections of the Indian College of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology, KGMU’s Respiratory Medicine Department’s Professor Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma has also been elected as a member of the Governing Council. KGMU’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand has congratulated Dr. Suryakant and Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma and called it a major achievement of the Respiratory Medicine Department.
