Bareilly gears up to combat monsoon woes

Bareilly: District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar has given orders to the Municipal Commissioner, Additional District Magistrate (Administration)/Incharge Officer (Local) to get the drains falling under the drainage routes in the Municipal Corporation/Municipal Bodies cleaned in view of the rainy season. The District Magistrate said that it is often seen that due to the lack of cleaning of the drains falling under the drainage routes in the Municipal Corporation/Municipal Bodies and due to the drainage system not being in proper condition, rain water often fills the roads, due to which the public faces great difficulty in commuting due to waterlogging on the said roads.

The District Magistrate has directed that the cleaning, repair etc. of all the drains falling on the drainage routes under the area of the Municipal Corporation/Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayats should be done on top priority. Also, study the drainage plan thoroughly and match it with the actual situation and ensure that the drainage system is running continuously without any obstruction.
