Bareilly | District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee at the Collectorate auditorium, focusing on strengthening traffic management and reducing accident risks across the districts.
During the meeting, officials held detailed discussions on key road safety concerns. The District Magistrate directed authorities to implement immediate measures to control speeding vehicles on the Shahjahanpur–Jhumka Tiraha stretch, identified as a high-risk corridor. He instructed the installation of proper signage and rumble strips to enhance driver awareness and prevent accidents.
A major concern raised was the use of alternative routes near Dhaneta crossing by vehicles attempting to evade toll charges. Taking serious note, the DM ordered strict monitoring and directed that heavy vehicle movement on such routes be restricted to avoid congestion and safety hazards.
The issue of water leakage from pipelines of the Jal Kal Department was also discussed, as it has led to the formation of potholes on several roads. The District Magistrate instructed officials to take immediate corrective action and ensure timely repairs to prevent further deterioration and accidents.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate (City) Saurabh Dubey, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Mohd. Akmal Khan, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, and other concerned officials.
The review underscores the administration’s focus on proactive planning and coordinated action to improve road safety and commuter convenience in Bareilly.
