Lucknow: Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister in charge of Lucknow district, Suresh Kumar Khanna, conducted a surprise inspection to see the cleanliness system in the capital. During the inspection, he reached four wards of Municipal Corporation Lucknow and took stock of the cleanliness system there.
The Minister in charge conducted a field inspection of the cleanliness system of Kunj Bihari Ward, Guru Govind Singh Ward, Chandrabhan Ward and Geeta Palli Ward. He expressed displeasure over the cleanliness system in Geeta Palli Ward and expressed dissatisfaction.
He directed the Municipal Commissioner to deduct the salary of the employees related to the cleanliness system in Geeta Palli Ward. He has instructed to deduct three days’ salary of the sanitation workers, supervisor and zonal sanitation inspector of the concerned area.
Road repair work is also to be done after the sewer line is laid in Geeta Palli Ward, in this regard he instructed that the road construction work should be completed as soon as possible. The minister seemed satisfied with the cleanliness system in the other three wards Kunj Bihari Ward, Guru Govind Singh Ward and Chandrabhan Ward.
He instructed the officials of the Municipal Corporation to improve the cleanliness system at all costs. He instructed that there should be no chaos anywhere in the city due to rain. He instructed that the drains should be cleaned regularly so that the drainage system is not affected and waterlogging does not occur in the city. He said that the risk of vector-borne diseases increases during the rainy season, hence the cleanliness and drainage system should be kept in order.
During the inspection, Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh, members of the concerned wards and Chairman of the Swachhata Protsahan Samiti Sunil Kumar Mishra and other dignitaries including officials and employees of the Municipal Corporation were present.
