Sapna Goyal to Organise Kanya Pujan for 150 Girls on October 19

Lucknow: A special Navratri satsang and Kanya Pujan ceremony for 150 girls will be organised under the leadership of Sapna Goyal on October 19, 2026, on the occasion of Navami. The programme will be held in two phases, combining religious rituals, devotional singing, a community feast and a spiritual message on the significance of Navratri.

The first phase will take place at Pratishtha Shri Parmanand Hari Har Temple on Deva Road, where havan, puja and kirtan will be performed, followed by a bhandara. The second phase will be organised at Pavan Sanatan Dham Lawn, opposite Rajat Degree College near V-Mart in Chinhat, featuring a satsang and Kanya Pujan.

The satsang will focus on Navratri as a journey of inner transformation, self-purification and the triumph of divine virtues over negative tendencies. The programme will emphasise that the festival’s spiritual significance extends beyond rituals, offering an opportunity to overcome inner darkness and move towards positivity.

As part of the ceremony, 150 girls will be worshipped as manifestations of the Goddess and presented with school bags containing items such as bangles, garlands, clothes, chunris, lunch boxes, water bottles and games or badminton rackets. They will also receive booklets of the Hanuman Chalisa. Women attending the event will wear traditional yellow sarees and participate in devotional chants in praise of Adi Shakti.

Goyal is also leading the Sunderkand Maha Abhiyan, Bharatvarsh Ki Bane Pehchaan, which, according to the organisers, has reached 42 districts in Uttar Pradesh and 10 states across the country. The campaign aims to promote spiritual awareness and establish India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Under the initiative of Ishwariya Swapnashish Seva Samiti, more than 5,000 women participated in a collective Sunderkand recitation at Jhoolelal Ghat in Lucknow on March 10, 2024. Another large-scale event was organised at Naimisharanya on June 23, 2024, with around 5,000 women.

Collective Sunderkand recitations have also been held at several prominent religious sites, including Siddhbali Temple in Kotdwar, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, Ram Ghat in Chitrakoot, the Bade Hanuman Temple in Prayagraj and Anandeshwar Mahadev Temple in Kanpur. More than 1,500 women also participated in a collective recitation at the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple complex in Mathura.

Monthly Sunderkand recitations at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya began on September 11, 2024. The campaign’s upcoming programmes include a three-day pilgrimage to Rishikesh beginning November 18 and a collective Sunderkand recitation by 11,000 women in Lucknow on December 20.
