Railway Workers Protest in Gonda, Seek Transfer of Chief Crew Controller

Gonda: Members and office-bearers of the N.E. Railway Mazdoor Union staged a peaceful demonstration at the diesel lobby in Gonda on Friday, raising concerns over the alleged mistreatment of running staff by the Chief Crew Controller and seeking improved basic facilities for Carriage and Wagon employees.

The demonstration was led by branch secretary Yogesh Sharma. The union also demanded arrangements for clean drinking water and toilets at the eastern end of Gonda railway station for Carriage and Wagon staff.

Addressing the gathering, Sharma demanded the immediate transfer of the Chief Crew Controller, Gonda, alleging that running employees had been subjected to inappropriate behaviour. He warned that if the transfer was not carried out soon, the union would be compelled to halt train operations in Gonda for two hours as part of its protest.

A large number of railway employees participated in the demonstration. Union representatives present included Sanjay Mishra, Sunny Gautam, Vinod Pal, Rishikesh Singh, Ram Raksha Yadav, Sunil Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Vivekanand Maurya, Kalpnath, Riyazuddin, Bharat Kumar and Pradeep Kumar.

The union said its demands were aimed at addressing workplace concerns and ensuring basic facilities for railway personnel.
