Gonda: Gonda Superintendent of Police Abhishek held a police personnel conference and crime review meeting at the Police Lines auditorium to assess preparations for upcoming festivals and review the district’s law-and-order and crime-control measures.
During the personnel conference, the SP interacted with police personnel, heard their problems and suggestions and directed the concerned officers to ensure their prompt and quality resolution. He also instructed personnel to perform their duties with dedication, discipline and sensitivity and to give priority to resolving public grievances.
At the subsequent crime meeting, the SP reviewed the law-and-order situation, crime prevention measures, pending cases and preparations for upcoming festivals, including Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Puja and Dussehra. Officers were directed to identify sensitive locations, deploy adequate police personnel, strengthen patrolling, manage crowds and traffic, and maintain coordination with event organisers.
The SP ordered intensified foot patrols, area visits, checking of suspicious persons and vehicles and strengthened night patrolling. He also reviewed action through the Yaksh app and directed officers to keep updates timely and make effective use of available technology.
Case-wise reviews of serious pending offences were conducted, with instructions for timely and quality investigations, proper evidence collection and avoidance of unnecessary delays. The SP also reviewed the recovery of victims in kidnapping cases and directed officers to use surveillance and technical resources effectively.
The meeting also covered effective prosecution of identified cases involving history-sheeters and regular monitoring of court proceedings. The installation and functioning of CCTV cameras at important and sensitive locations were reviewed, with directions to ensure effective surveillance.
The SP directed all station in-charges to maintain heightened vigilance, strengthen law and order and ensure that the upcoming festivals are conducted peacefully and harmoniously.
