Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state’s 25 crore people stand firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and developed India. He was speaking at the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme organised at the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi’s 76th birthday.
As part of the Seva Sankalp campaign, lamps were lit at important locations across Uttar Pradesh as well as at the homes of beneficiaries of various welfare schemes. Yogi described the initiative as a “Rashtra Yagya” and expressed his appreciation to workers, beneficiaries and citizens participating in the campaign.
The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Modi had given India a new identity over the past 12 years, with the country making progress in infrastructure, technology and economic development. Referring to Vishwakarma Jayanti, he described Lord Vishwakarma as the architect of creation and Prime Minister Modi as an architect of a “new India.”
Yogi also extended birthday greetings to Modi and wished him a healthy and long life. He said the lamps being lit across the state represented people’s prayers for the Prime Minister and their participation in the vision of a developed India.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal, MLA Dr Neeraj Bora, Legislative Council member Avnish Kumar Singh and programme in-charge Rajiv Mishra were among those present.
Earlier, bike journeys from Kashi to Vadnagar were flagged off in Varanasi under the Seva Sankalp campaign. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Yogi Adityanath, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Chirag Paswan and BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary participated in the flag-off ceremony.
Ten journeys each will travel from Kashi and Vadnagar through different routes. The Kashi-bound riders will carry water from sacred rivers of Gujarat for the abhishek of Baba Vishwanath, while riders travelling to Vadnagar will carry water from Uttar Pradesh’s sacred rivers and prasad from Kashi for the abhishek of Hatkeshwar Mahadev.
Yogi said the approximately 20-day motorcycle journey would promote the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” The participating youth will cover around 100 km every day, with four major programmes planned daily to facilitate public interaction and service activities.
