Gonda: Four women from Imarti Bisen village in Jhanjhari development block approached District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan during the Janata Darshan programme at the Gonda Collectorate and sought assistance over the lack of ration cards for their families.
The complainants — Binu Singh, wife of Santosh Singh; Reshma, wife of Mohammad Aslam; Sangeeta, wife of Krishna Kumar Pandey; and Mauna Devi, wife of Salik Ram — informed the District Magistrate that their families had no regular source of income and were facing difficulties in meeting their basic household needs.
They requested that ration cards be issued to them after verification of their eligibility.
Taking immediate cognisance of their grievances, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan directed the District Supply Officer to verify the eligibility of all four applicants and initiate action for issuing ration cards in accordance with the prescribed rules.
Following the District Magistrate’s directions, the District Supply Officer conducted the required verification. All four applicants were found eligible under the applicable criteria, following which their ration cards were prepared.
The District Magistrate subsequently handed over the ration cards personally to Binu Singh, Reshma, Sangeeta and Mauna Devi during the Janata Darshan programme. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the district administration for promptly addressing their grievances.
Niranjan said the objective of Janata Darshan was to ensure the prompt and effective resolution of public grievances. She directed officials to take necessary action so that eligible people receive the benefits of government welfare schemes without unnecessary delay.
She also instructed officials to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of government schemes due to negligence or procedural delays.
Assistant Regional Officer of the Food and Civil Supplies Department Shiv Prakash Tripathi, along with other concerned officials and employees, was present on the occasion.
