Bareilly District Magistrate Reviews Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission Action Plan, Stresses Better Job Linkages

Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission State Executive Committee at the Collectorate auditorium to review the district’s employment strategy and strengthen initiatives aimed at expanding job and self-employment opportunities during the 2026–27 financial year.

During the meeting, the District Employment Officer presented the district-level action plan prepared under the Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission, outlining programmes and employment-related activities proposed for 2026–27.

The District Magistrate directed all government departments implementing employment and self-employment schemes to ensure that beneficiaries are registered on the Rojgar Sangam portal so they can access a wider range of employment opportunities and government services.

He also highlighted the Seva Mitra Yojana, being implemented by the Employment Department, which aims to promote self-employment among skilled workers and technically qualified youth by connecting them with livelihood opportunities.

Avinash Singh instructed the District Employment Officer to obtain feedback from candidates selected through employment fairs and to hold regular meetings with representatives of industrial organisations to identify vacancies in local industries. He emphasised that unemployed youth should be linked with these opportunities through coordinated placement efforts.

The District Magistrate further directed that all employers in the district, government offices, and students studying in educational and technical institutions should be registered on the Rojgar Sangam portal to strengthen the employment ecosystem.

Officials informed the meeting that special employment fairs would be organised for women, while a two-day state-level career counselling programme would also be conducted to guide job seekers. The issue of inadequate foreign language skills among candidates seeking overseas employment was also discussed. The District Magistrate instructed that language training and orientation on the laws and regulations of destination countries be incorporated into training programmes at SRMS institutions to improve the employability of candidates abroad.

Emphasising the need for sustained monitoring, Avinash Singh directed officials to follow up with candidates who secured jobs through employment fairs to assess how many remained employed and identify reasons for those who left their jobs. He also called for industry-oriented skill development programmes so that young people can receive training aligned with the needs of local enterprises and secure employment within the district itself.

The meeting was attended by the Project Officer of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), the District Coordinator of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), the Lead Bank Manager, the District Employment Officer, and other concerned officials.
