Lucknow/Gonda: In a significant organizational development, Raghavendra Tiwari, District President of Gonda and a prominent advocate for sanitation workers’ rights, has been appointed as the State In-Charge of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Rural Sanitation Workers’ Union.
The appointment was announced during the union’s provincial meeting held at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Auditorium in Lucknow. During the meeting, the newly elected state committee expanded the organization and assigned key responsibilities to strengthen its statewide presence.
The proposal to appoint Raghavendra Tiwari as State In-Charge was put forward by State General Secretary Banke Gautam, citing Tiwari’s consistent efforts in raising issues affecting sanitation workers in Gonda and across the state. The proposal received support from State Supervisor Kranti Singh and was formally approved by State President Basant Lal Gautam.
While handing over the responsibility, Basant Lal Gautam urged Tiwari to continue fighting for the rights and welfare of sanitation workers. He also announced that the union would soon launch large-scale protests and demonstrations across Uttar Pradesh to press for workers’ pending demands.
Following the announcement, a felicitation ceremony was organized at the Vikas Bhavan office, where the District Panchayat Officer welcomed Tiwari with a garland. Union members and officials also congratulated him and celebrated the occasion by offering sweets.
Among those present were District General Secretary Devmani Shukla, District Patron Shivram Shukla, State Vice President Ameer Ahmad, Fauzdar Pandey, Rupaideeh Block President Lakhan Lal Paswan, Rampal Yadav, Vaibhav Raj Mishra, Devta, Sanjay Singh, Arvind Verma, and several other sanitation workers and union members.
The appointment is being seen as a recognition of Tiwari’s dedication to addressing workers’ concerns and strengthening the organization’s efforts across Uttar Pradesh.
