Lucknow: Demonstrating the spirit of compassion, service, and humanity, the Husaini Blood Donor Club (HBDC) once again organized a large-scale blood donation campaign in memory of Imam Hussain (AS) and the 72 martyrs of Karbala. Inspired by the sacrifices made at Karbala, the organization has been conducting blood donation drives since 2009 to promote awareness about voluntary blood donation and encourage people to save lives through this noble cause.
The blood donation camps organized during Muharram hold special significance for members and volunteers of the club, who dedicate the initiative as a tribute to Imam Hussain (AS). The organization aims to ensure that blood reaches those in need without discrimination and to inspire more people to participate in humanitarian service.
More Than 2,000 Registered Donors
According to the club, over 2,000 registered blood donors are currently associated with the organization, and the number continues to grow each year. The expanding network reflects increasing public participation in the cause and a growing commitment to helping patients in need of blood transfusions.
HBDC provides blood assistance to people from all communities, regardless of caste, creed, or religion, reinforcing the universal values of humanity and solidarity.
Special Camp Held with KGMU Support
Continuing its annual tradition, the Husaini Blood Donor Club organized a special blood donation camp on the 9th of Muharram, June 25, 2026, at Imambara Gufran Ma’ab in Chowk, Lucknow, in collaboration with the King George’s Medical University (KGMU).

The camp was dedicated to the memory of Imam Hussain (AS) and the 72 martyrs of Karbala. A large number of volunteers and donors participated enthusiastically, contributing to the life-saving initiative. Organizers described the event as a powerful example of how the message of Karbala continues to inspire acts of selfless service and social responsibility.
Commitment to Saving Lives
The Husaini Blood Donor Club stated that it will continue organizing similar social welfare initiatives in the future. The organization’s mission remains focused on spreading awareness about blood donation, encouraging voluntary participation, and ensuring timely blood availability for patients in need.
By transforming remembrance into service, the club hopes to carry forward the enduring message of Imam Hussain (AS)—that humanity, sacrifice, and compassion transcend all barriers and remain essential values for society.
