Rohilkhand University Organises Yoga Practice and Awareness Session as Part of International Yoga Day Week

Bareilly: As part of the celebrations leading up to the International Day of Yoga, the Department of Applied Philosophy and Yoga at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organized a special yoga practice and knowledge session at the university’s Sports Complex under its ongoing Yoga Week programme.

The event brought together yoga practitioners, students, and faculty members to participate in guided yoga exercises and gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy and significance of yoga in everyday life. Participants were introduced to various yogic practices aimed at improving physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life.

During the session, experts highlighted the deeper dimensions of yoga, including its philosophical foundations, holistic approach to wellness, and relevance in modern society. Students were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routines to promote a balanced lifestyle and enhance physical and mental fitness.

The programme also emphasized the role of yoga in stress management, self-discipline, and personal development, reinforcing the message of holistic well-being associated with International Yoga Day.

Among those present were Prof. A.K. Singh, Head of the Department of Applied Philosophy and Yoga; Dr. Setwan, Assistant Professor of Yoga; and Ms. Priyanka Shakya, Teaching Assistant. A large number of yoga practitioners and students from the department actively participated in the session.

University officials stated that the objective of the programme was to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage greater public participation in the observance of International Yoga Day. Through such initiatives, the university continues to promote the ancient Indian practice as a means of achieving physical fitness, mental harmony, and social well-being.

The Yoga Week celebrations are being conducted to inspire students and the wider community to embrace yoga as an integral part of a healthy and disciplined lifestyle while carrying forward the message of wellness and mindfulness associated with the global observance of International Yoga Day.
