Traders Lead Yoga Awareness Vehicle Rally Ahead of International Yoga Day in Lucknow

Lucknow: In a bid to promote the benefits of yoga and encourage healthy living, the Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Yoga Samiti organized a Yoga Awareness Vehicle Rally in the LDA Ashiyana area of Lucknow on Sunday morning. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from yoga practitioners, traders, women, senior citizens, youth, and retired government officials.

The rally was flagged off at 6 a.m. from Ashiyana’s Zonal Park by Sanjay Gupta, State President of the Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal and Patron of the Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Yoga Samiti. Prominent attendees included Dr. Sandeep Singh Gaur, State President of the Yoga Samiti; Sunil Maurya, Vice President of the committee, Secretary of Geeta Charity Trust Foundation, and Yoga Acharya; and local corporator Kaushalendra Dwivedi.

The awareness rally passed through various neighborhoods, markets, parks, and residential areas of Ashiyana before returning to its starting point. Participants spread awareness about the importance of yoga through songs, public outreach, and interactions with residents, encouraging people to adopt yoga as a part of their daily lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Singh Gaur announced that a large-scale yoga event will be organized on International Yoga Day, June 21, at the Multi-Activity Centre in Ashiyana, where nearly 2,000 yoga practitioners are expected to perform yoga together. The event will be attended by local MLA Rajeshwar Singh as the chief guest, while Sanjay Gupta will participate as the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Gupta emphasized that good health is the greatest asset in life and yoga is one of the most effective ways to preserve it. He said that wealth and power lose significance if one does not enjoy good health. Highlighting the holistic benefits of yoga, he noted that regular practice, coupled with disciplined eating habits and a balanced lifestyle, can help control many ailments and strengthen overall well-being.

“Nature has equipped the human body with its own healing system. Through yoga, self-discipline, and a healthy routine, people can maintain physical and mental wellness,” Gupta said.

The rally saw active participation from numerous members of the Yoga Samiti, Geeta Charity Trust Foundation, and local residents. Among those present were Ritesh Kharbanda, Yogendra Singh Chandel, Rajesh Srivastava, Baby Maurya, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Rajkumar Shukla, R.K. Gupta, M.P. Bhaskar, K.P. Gupta, Naresh Singh, Assistant Commissioner Sanjay Mishra, Raja Ram Sharma, Yogacharya Lakshmi Dutt Chaubey, Hansa Chaubey, Rakesh Srivastava, Dr. Anar Singh, Priya Srivastava, Raman Srivastava, Prem Kumar, J.P. Singh, Somnath Chatterjee, Saroj Bhagat, Monica Gupta, Santara Giri, Gyan Sagar Giri, Surendra Maurya, Ranjeet Maurya, Deepa Dwivedi, Kusum Verma, Ranjani Pandey, Sahib Ansari, and many others.

The rally served as a vibrant reminder of the growing public interest in yoga and its role in fostering a healthier and more balanced society.
