- Grand conclusion of CU Scholar Summit-2026; 1,500 meritorious students honoured
- Scholarships worth ₹50 crore through CUCET; students from UP, Bihar and Jharkhand receive encouragement
Unnao/Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as one of the country’s leading higher education hubs. In line with this vision, the two-day CU Scholar Summit-2026 organized by Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh to promote education, innovation and talent concluded on Thursday with a grand ceremony. More than 1,500 meritorious students from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and other states were honoured during the event.
The chief guest at the ceremony, held at the university campus in Unnao, was Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay. He was joined by Rajya Sabha MP and Chancellor of Chandigarh University Satnam Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vineet Kumar Nair, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. T.P. Singh and other senior university officials.
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is reaching new heights in the fields of education and innovation. The presence of world-class institutions such as Chandigarh University is giving the state a new identity at the national and international levels.”
He said that in line with the National Education Policy 2020, the state government is continuously working to link education with technology, employment and values.
Appreciating the innovations displayed by students, the minister added, “The research models and technological projects presented here prove that India’s youth are not only acquiring knowledge but are also developing solutions to future challenges. Innovative concepts such as generating electricity through footprints will play an important role in building a developed India.”
The university has announced scholarships worth up to ₹50 crore for the academic session 2026-27 through the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Students who perform exceptionally well in the examination are being awarded scholarships of up to 100 percent.
A large number of students participated in the CU Scholar Summit organized to honour these talented students. The objective of the event is to remove financial barriers and provide quality education to deserving talent.
Rajya Sabha MP and Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu said that CUCET is not merely an entrance examination but a national mission to identify and promote talent.

He said, “No deserving student should have to compromise on their dreams due to financial reasons. With this vision, the university has launched an extensive scholarship programme.”
He further stated, “The dreams of today’s generation are global and that Artificial Intelligence is transforming the world. In the coming years, technology will become so advanced that a single individual may be able to run an entire company. In such a scenario, the university’s objective is not just to award degrees but to prepare future leaders who can provide new direction to society and the nation through AI and emerging technologies.”
Several leading industry experts, policymakers and university alumni participated in the event. Addressing the students, Aman Gupta (Co-founder, boAt), Dr. Shailesh Kumar (Reliance Jio), Aswathy Venugopal (Cognizant), Arpit Trivedi (Hitachi Systems India) and several other experts held detailed discussions on digital infrastructure, AI, data science, enterprise technology and future career opportunities.
Actor and singer Aparshakti Khurana, singer Asees Kaur and other distinguished guests also inspired the students.
Experts said that a degree alone is not sufficient in today’s world. Students need to develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, innovative thinking and an understanding of emerging technologies. They noted that AI and digital technologies will influence almost every sector in the coming years, and students who keep themselves updated with changing times will have greater opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
During the event, the university administration reiterated that, as the country’s first AI-augmented multidisciplinary university, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh remains committed to providing students with modern education, industry-ready skills, global opportunities and an innovation-driven environment.
