Gonda: District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan conducted an on-site inspection of the Baba Prithvinath Temple complex in Gonda on Sunday, accompanied by concerned officials. During the visit, she reviewed the existing facilities and infrastructure within the temple premises and its surrounding areas, emphasizing the need to enhance amenities for devotees and improve the site’s appeal as a religious and tourist destination.
A key focus of the inspection was the pond located near the temple. Observing its current condition, the District Magistrate noted the urgent need for beautification and regular maintenance. She directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Rupaidih, the executing agency C&DS, and the Tourism Department to jointly undertake the pond’s cleaning and beautification work.
Highlighting the significance of Baba Prithvinath Temple as an important center of faith in the district, Priyanka Niranjan said that thousands of devotees visit the shrine regularly for worship and religious activities. She stressed that maintaining a clean, attractive, and well-organized environment around the temple is a priority for the administration.
The District Magistrate instructed officials to ensure comprehensive cleaning of the pond, develop greenery around its perimeter, provide adequate lighting, and establish a proper maintenance mechanism for the temple surroundings. She underlined that such measures would not only improve the experience of visitors but also contribute to the overall development of the area.

“Development of religious and tourist destinations benefits both local residents and visitors while promoting tourism and economic activity in the region,” she said.
During the inspection, officials briefed the District Magistrate on various proposed development projects and ongoing plans related to the temple and surrounding infrastructure. She directed all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high standards of quality.
The District Magistrate also instructed officials to regularly monitor progress and submit updates on the implementation of the beautification and development works. The initiative is expected to enhance the religious site’s appeal and provide improved facilities for devotees and tourists visiting Baba Prithvinath Temple.
