Bareilly: In a thoughtful initiative aimed at providing relief to citizens during the ongoing heatwave, District Magistrate Avinash Singh has arranged for the installation of a water cooler outside the District Magistrate’s residence. The facility was formally inaugurated by the District Magistrate, who cut the ribbon and performed a ceremonial coconut-breaking ritual.
The initiative has been launched to ensure the availability of clean and chilled drinking water for passersby, daily wage workers, and residents visiting the district headquarters from both rural and urban areas. The measure is expected to provide much-needed respite from the intense summer heat and help reduce the risk of heat-related health issues.
With temperatures continuing to rise across the region, the District Magistrate emphasized the importance of social responsibility and humanitarian values. He appealed to residents to contribute by making drinking water available at their homes, business establishments, and public places wherever possible. He also urged people to ensure that birds and animals have access to water during the scorching summer months.
Officials said the arrangement has been made in the spirit of public welfare and community service, with the aim of supporting citizens and encouraging a culture of compassion and cooperation during extreme weather conditions.

Among those present on the occasion were City Magistrate Rajesh Kumari Verma and other officials and staff members of the Collectorate.
