AIIMS Raebareli Organises National Online CME on Dengue on National Dengue Day

Raebareli: The Department of Community Medicine and Public Health at AIIMS Raebareli organised a National Online Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on the occasion of National Dengue Day, focusing on public health awareness, disease prevention and clinical management of dengue.

The CME was held under the theme “Community Participation for Dengue Control: Check, Clean and Cover” and brought together doctors, public health experts, faculty members, residents and medical students from across the country.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Executive Director Amita Jain and aimed at strengthening scientific understanding and promoting community participation in dengue prevention and control.

Experts Discuss Dengue Prevention and Public Health Strategies

The organising chairperson and Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health, Bhola Nath, delivered a detailed lecture on the latest developments in dengue prevention and highlighted the crucial role of community involvement in controlling mosquito-borne diseases.

Organising secretary Neeraj Pawar shared information about government-led dengue control initiatives and strategies being implemented under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP/NCVBDC).

Additional Professor Mukesh Shukla presented an overview of the epidemiology of dengue in both global and Indian contexts, emphasizing the disease’s growing public health significance.

Focus on Diagnosis and Clinical Management

Executive Director Prof. Amita Jain also delivered an expert lecture on the key aspects of dengue diagnosis, stressing the importance of timely detection and appropriate investigations to prevent complications.

From the Department of Medicine, Sagar Subhash Nanavare discussed clinical management of dengue, including warning signs, patient monitoring and treatment protocols.

Meanwhile, Nandini addressed common myths and misconceptions related to dengue and encouraged the public to rely on scientific facts and preventive measures.

‘Check, Clean and Cover’ Message Highlighted

Throughout the CME, experts repeatedly emphasized the “Check, Clean and Cover” campaign message to spread awareness about preventing mosquito breeding and reducing the risk of vector-borne diseases.

The programme concluded with a collective call for stronger public participation, awareness and preventive action to effectively combat dengue and other mosquito-borne illnesses.
