Hazratganj Women Police Conducts Mission Shakti 5.0 Awareness Programme for School Girls

Lucknow: As part of the ongoing “Mission Shakti 5.0” campaign, Lucknow Police Commissionerate organised a special awareness programme at BSNV Girls Inter College to educate students about women’s safety, cybercrime prevention, self-defence, legal rights, and emergency support services.

The initiative was conducted by the team of Women Police Station Hazratganj under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amrendra Kumar Sengar as part of the state government’s mission to promote safety, dignity, and empowerment among women and girls.

Police officials informed students about the functioning of Mission Shakti Centres, which have been established at all 54 police stations under the Lucknow Commissionerate to ensure prompt assistance and grievance redressal for women.

The awareness session focused on educating girl students about cyber safety, anti-Romeo initiatives, women empowerment schemes, and the importance of seeking timely police assistance in emergencies. Students were also introduced to the UP Cop mobile application and digital safety measures.

During the programme, police personnel explained the significance of important helpline numbers, including 1090 (Women Power Line), 112 (Emergency Response Service), 181 (Women Helpline), and 1098 (Child Helpline). Students were encouraged to report incidents fearlessly and seek immediate help whenever required.

Officials also sensitised students about cyber fraud, online scams, social media misuse, and digital privacy. They advised students not to click on suspicious links or share personal information online and to immediately report any cybercrime-related incident.

As part of the programme, students were familiarised with the functioning of the police station to reduce hesitation and build trust between the police and the public. Police officials also discussed legal rights, awareness about “good touch and bad touch,” and basic self-defence techniques to help students respond confidently during difficult situations.

The awareness drive was conducted by Women Sub-Inspector Poonam Tripathi, Sub-Inspector Hari Mohan Ojha, Sub-Inspector Ankit Kumar, Women Constable Diksha Gupta, Women Constable Kusum Kanojia, and Women Constable Shalini.

Teachers, students, and staff members of BSNV Girls Inter College participated actively in the programme.

Officials said the main objective of the initiative was to empower girls with confidence, legal awareness, and digital literacy while strengthening coordination between the police and the public to create a safer and more secure society.
