Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday directed officials to ensure time-bound and effective resolution of public grievances, emphasizing accountability at every level. The order came during a Janata Darshan programme held at his camp office at 7, Kalidas Marg in Lucknow.
Hundreds of complainants from across the state attended the public hearing, presenting issues ranging from land disputes and encroachments to infrastructure and law-and-order concerns.
“Every Problem Must Be Resolved”: Deputy CM
Interacting directly with citizens, Maurya assured that “every possible effort will be made to resolve every individual’s problem.” He instructed officials to treat each complaint with priority and ensure that solutions are comprehensive, preventing complainants from having to make repeated visits to government offices.
Direct Intervention with District Officials
During the session, the Deputy CM personally spoke with senior officials over the phone, including District Magistrates of Fatehpur, Sitapur, Lucknow, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Barabanki, Lakhimpur and Ambedkar Nagar. He also issued instructions to the Police Commissioner of Prayagraj and Superintendents of Police in Rampur and Kannauj.
Officials were directed to take immediate action and report progress without delay.
Key Issues Raised by Citizens
A wide range of complaints were brought forward, including:

- Land disputes and illegal कब्जा
- Encroachment removal
- Allegations of harassment
- Road construction and electricity supply issues
- Housing allotment concerns
- Education and healthcare-related grievances
Maurya stressed that negligence in addressing such issues would not be tolerated and warned of strict action in cases of delay or inaction.
Focus on Accountability and Monitoring
The Deputy Chief Minister instructed departments to clearly fix responsibility for grievance redressal and ensure regular monitoring of action taken. He underlined the importance of transparency and efficiency in resolving complaints in line with the government’s governance priorities.
Priority for Vulnerable Groups
Special emphasis was placed on addressing complaints from women, elderly citizens, and persons with disabilities, with directions for their cases to be handled on priority and resolved swiftly.
Wide Participation from Across Districts
The Janata Darshan saw participation from residents of nearly three dozen districts, including Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Unnao, Badaun, Baghpat, Firozabad, Shravasti, Etawah, Basti, Balrampur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Pratapgarh, Pilibhit, Sambhal, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Saharanpur and Kushinagar, among others.
The Janata Darshan initiative continues to serve as a direct interface between citizens and the government, enabling quick grievance redressal and reinforcing public trust. With strict instructions on accountability and timely action, the state government aims to ensure that governance remains responsive and citizen-centric.
