Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that cultural and literary events like Rashmirathi Parv play a vital role in strengthening the spirit of nationalism among the younger generation. He was addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day festival held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.
The event was organized to mark the 52nd death anniversary of noted Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and the diamond jubilee year of his iconic work Rashmirathi. The three-day programme, which began on April 24, concluded with grand cultural performances and literary tributes.
“A Milestone for National Consciousness”
Addressing the audience, Shahi emphasized that such initiatives inspire youth by connecting them with India’s rich literary and cultural heritage. “Programmes like Rashmirathi Parv will serve as milestones in strengthening national consciousness among future generations,” he said.
Cultural Performances Enthrall Audience
The concluding day featured a series of captivating cultural performances that left the audience spellbound. A theatrical presentation titled Lokmanya Tilak portrayed the life and struggles of freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak, highlighting his role in India’s independence movement.
Another highlight was Atal Swaranjali, a musical dance drama based on ten timeless poems of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The performance struck an emotional chord with the audience and evoked strong feelings of patriotism.

The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, and former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey.
A large number of eminent personalities, litterateur, artists, and cultural enthusiasts attended the event, celebrating Dinkar’s literary legacy and the enduring relevance of Rashmirathi, which has completed 75 years since publication.

Organisers highlighted that the festival aimed to honour the timeless contribution of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, whose works continue to inspire generations with themes of courage, justice, and nationalism.
