Mumbai: Global digital infrastructure company Equinix has unveiled its fourth International Business Exchange (IBX) data center, MB3, in Mumbai, reinforcing India’s growing position as a hub for AI, cloud computing, and data-driven innovation.

Developed with an initial investment of around $95 million, the state-of-the-art facility offers a starting capacity of over 1,370 cabinets, scalable to more than 5,400 cabinets. Designed to support high-performance workloads, MB3 features advanced liquid cooling systems, high-density architecture, and energy-efficient technologies tailored for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-intensive applications.

Welcoming the development, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis noted that the state already accounts for nearly 60% of India’s data center capacity, adding that AI-enabled infrastructure like MB3 will further strengthen Mumbai’s leadership as a digital powerhouse.
