Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested an alleged inter-state drug smuggler and seized a large consignment of ganja valued at approximately ₹1.93 crore during an operation in Lucknow.
According to officials, the STF team intercepted a Tata Ultra DCM truck late on March 11 near Nigohan police station area in Lucknow. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered 7.75 quintals of ganja concealed in a specially built hidden cavity inside the truck. The vehicle, bearing registration number UP-71-AT-3380, was reportedly transporting the contraband from Odisha via Rae Bareli.
The accused has been identified as Kaushal Kumar, a resident of Muradpur in Fatehpur district. STF officials also recovered two mobile phones from his possession.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was working for an organized gang involved in trafficking narcotics across states and had transported such consignments multiple times for payment. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to trace other members of the network.
