Dr. Avadhesh Mishra Highlights Uttar Pradesh’s Visual Art Landscape at Pink City International Festival, Jaipur

Lucknow — Dr. Avadhesh Mishra, Assistant Professor at Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, represented State Lalit Kala Akademi, Uttar Pradesh, as a speaker at the India Pink Fest – Pink City International Festival 2026 held in Jaipur. He shared his views during a panel discussion titled “Bharat Bodh: The Foundation of Cultural Public Consciousness”, speaking on the theme “The Visual Art Landscape of Uttar Pradesh.”

In his address, Dr. Mishra said that the artistic fragrance of Uttar Pradesh has spread across India and beyond through artists trained in the state, who are today leading the mainstream of contemporary art. He emphasised that artists from the region continue to stay connected to their cultural roots by incorporating motifs and meanings drawn from various regional folk art traditions into contemporary visual art practices.

The three-day Pink Fest 2026 is being organised from February 6 to 8, 2026, at the Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur. The festival aims to create a global dialogue by presenting traditions, creative expertise and contemporary perspectives through new artistic paradigms. The event provides a prestigious platform for established artists while also fostering a creative environment that recognises and nurtures emerging talent.

Representing Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Avadhesh Mishra has remained actively engaged in Indian contemporary art for nearly three decades, balancing both creative practice and critical thought. He is widely recognised as a distinguished artist, art critic, art educator and editor.

During the grand international art exhibition organised as part of the festival, Dr. Mishra’s artwork from the “Bijūka” series, titled “Matha 198,” is also on display, drawing attention from art enthusiasts and critics alike.
