Govinda Meets Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Presents Special Gift

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Govinda, fondly remembered as the ‘Hero No. 1’ of the 1990s, has once again found himself in the spotlight—this time for his meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Though Govinda has been away from the big screen for several years, his public appearances continue to attract attention.

A photograph of the veteran actor with CM Yogi Adityanath has gone viral on social media. The picture was shared by Govinda on his Instagram handle and also posted by the Chief Minister on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. According to sources, the meeting saw discussions on cinema as well as broader social issues.

Govinda met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday at the CM’s official residence in Lucknow. Sharing the moment online, the actor wrote, “Spending time with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was a wonderful experience. My heartfelt thanks to respected Yogi Adityanath ji.” In the photograph, Govinda can be seen presenting a special idol of Lord Shri Krishna to the Chief Minister as a gesture of respect.

Govinda made his Bollywood debut in 1986 and went on to dominate the box office in the 1990s with a string of blockbuster films. While his career later saw a decline, he continued to work in supporting roles. His last film appearance was in 2019’s Rangila Raja, which failed at the box office.

After a gap of seven years, Govinda is set to return to the silver screen with a cameo in Salman Khan and Chitrangada Singh-starrer Battle of Galwan, slated for release in April 2026.
