When Love Turns Controlling: Anvita Takes a Stand and Walks Away in Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi

Mumbai | Sony SAB’s popular show Itti Si Khushi continues to strike an emotional chord with viewers as it explores complex relationships, personal boundaries, and the courage to stand up against emotional and physical abuse. The current track marks a powerful turning point in the journey of Anvita, portrayed by Sumbul Touqeer Khan, as she finally chooses self-respect over fear and control.

The show follows Anvita, a selfless young woman who has taken on parental responsibilities for her siblings at a very young age. From navigating financial hardships to making personal sacrifices, Anvita has always placed her family above herself. As she tries to begin a new chapter with her husband Sanjay, played by Rishi Saxena, unresolved emotions from her past relationship with Virat (Rajat Verma) continue to resurface, testing her emotional resilience.

In the upcoming episodes, tension escalates when Advocate Leena plans a surprise visit to assess whether Anvita’s siblings are living in a safe and nurturing environment. Realising the potential risk to their custody, Sanjay manipulates the situation and subtly asserts control, reminding Anvita that her siblings’ future depends entirely on him. His behaviour soon becomes increasingly suspicious as he keeps calling Anvita with precise updates about events at home, leaving her unsettled.

Determined to uncover the truth, Anvita seeks help from Diya (Meghna Kukreja) and Virat. What she discovers shocks her deeply—Sanjay has secretly set up a surveillance room, monitoring every corner of the Bhosale and Divekar house and café through live cameras. When Anvita confronts him, the situation takes a dark turn as Sanjay reacts violently and slaps her. This moment becomes Anvita’s breaking point, prompting her to leave his house and return to the Divekar home with her siblings.

The storyline raises a crucial question: Will this be the end of Anvita and Sanjay’s relationship, or will Sanjay once again attempt to control her by using her siblings’ custody as leverage?

Sharing her thoughts on the intense track, Sumbul Touqeer Khan said that this moment represents Anvita’s emotional awakening. She highlighted that walking away was not just about physical hurt, but about reclaiming dignity and self-worth. Portraying these emotions on screen, she added, was both challenging and empowering as an actor.

With its sensitive portrayal of control, courage, and self-respect, Itti Si Khushi continues to address socially relevant themes while keeping audiences emotionally invested.

Watch Itti Si Khushi every Monday to Saturday at 9:00 PM, only on Sony SAB.
