Shakti Anand, Sneha Wagh and Manasi Salvi Take COLORS’ ‘Mahadev & Sons’ Family Saga to Lucknow

Lucknow | The city of Nawabs witnessed a wave of excitement as actors Shakti Anand, Sneha Wagh and Manasi Salvi, along with producer Saurabh Tewari, visited Lucknow to promote COLORS’ popular family drama ‘Mahadev & Sons’, a show deeply rooted in the cultural landscape of Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi.

Set against the backdrop of values, traditions and emotional bonds, Mahadev & Sons has been winning viewers’ hearts since its premiere. The narrative traces the inspiring journey of Mahadev, an orphan who enters the influential Bajpai household as a servant and, through sheer determination and integrity, rises to become one of the most respected figures in the town. His love story with Vidya, the daughter of his former master, challenges rigid social norms and forces the couple to rebuild their lives after being ostracised. Choosing self-respect over resentment, they create a disciplined yet affectionate household where faith, togetherness and shared rituals define everyday life.

Mahadev, portrayed by Shakti Anand, is shown not just as a strict patriarch but also as a devoted husband and a caring father to five children. However, past scars shape his worldview, leading him to impose a firm rule—love marriages are not permitted. While this keeps the family united, it also sparks quiet conflicts as his children struggle between obedience and personal freedom.

Adding tension to the story is Bhanu, Vidya’s elder sister, played by Manasi Salvi, whose unresolved anger and pride cast a shadow over Mahadev’s seemingly ideal family. Her presence raises a crucial question—will Mahadev’s own love story ultimately test the unity of his household?

Producer Saurabh Tewari, Founder of Parin Multimedia Pvt. Ltd., said the show is deeply personal for him. Having grown up in Uttar Pradesh, he drew inspiration from the people, emotions and relationships he observed in and around Hardoi and Lucknow. He noted that bringing the show to the state felt like returning a story to its roots, reflecting the region’s unique blend of love, pride, loyalty and conflict.

Actor Shakti Anand expressed gratitude for the overwhelming audience response, saying the warmth shown by viewers in Lucknow reaffirmed the emotional honesty of Mahadev’s character. Sneha Wagh, who essays Vidya, described her role as a tribute to nurturing Indian mothers who quietly hold families together with compassion and resilience. Manasi Salvi highlighted the satisfaction of playing a layered, grey character, noting that Bhanu’s anger stems from emotional pain rather than malice.

Mahadev & Sons airs Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm on COLORS, with streaming available on JioHotstar, offering viewers a compelling family drama that questions traditions while celebrating the enduring strength of love and togetherness.
