New Delhi/Lucknow: In a significant recognition of scientific excellence and societal impact, the CSIR Aroma Mission has been conferred with the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2025 (Vigyan Team Award) by the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at a prestigious ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
The award was received by Dr. Prabodh Kumar Trivedi, Mission Director of the CSIR-Aroma Mission, on behalf of the entire team. The honour acknowledges the mission’s transformative contribution to strengthening India’s aromatic crops sector through cutting-edge scientific innovation, farmer-centric technologies, and sustainable livelihood generation supported by consistent technical guidance.
The CSIR Aroma Mission has played a pivotal role in promoting cultivation, processing, and value addition of aromatic plants across the country, empowering farmers, enhancing rural incomes, and supporting the vision of “Science for Society.” Its integrated approach has helped bridge the gap between laboratory research and field-level application, creating a sustainable model for agri-based development.

Faculty members of CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), Lucknow, joined the award ceremony virtually and extended heartfelt congratulations to the Director of CSIR-CIMAP. They lauded his visionary leadership, strategic guidance, unwavering support, and invaluable contribution to the success of the CSIR Aroma Mission.
