Mithun Manhas, former Jammu & Kashmir cricketer and experienced domestic campaigner, has been elected as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Annual General Meeting (AGM) also finalized the appointments of other office-bearers.
New Delhi: Mithun Manhas has been appointed as the new President of the BCCI, succeeding Roger Binny. The announcement came during the Annual General Meeting at the BCCI headquarters, where the names of other office-bearers were also ratified. Rajiv Shukla continues as Vice President, Raghuram Bhatt of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has been appointed Treasurer, Devjit Saikia remains Secretary, and Prabhatej Bhatia joins as Joint Secretary.
Manhas, affiliated with the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), becomes the first uncapped cricketer to lead the country’s premier cricket body. Having begun his domestic career in 1997-98, Manhas also represented India at the Under-19 and A-team levels. He captained Delhi to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2007-08 season, scoring 921 runs in that campaign.
A prolific domestic batsman, Manhas has played 157 first-class matches, amassing 9,714 runs at an average of 45.82, including 27 centuries and 49 half-centuries. His highest score in first-class cricket is an unbeaten 205. In 130 List-A matches, he scored 4,126 runs at an average of 45.84, recording five centuries and 26 half-centuries.

Manhas also featured in 55 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, representing Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India, and Chennai Super Kings, scoring 514 runs at an average of 22.34. Despite a stellar domestic record, he never broke into India’s senior national team.
With his deep experience in domestic cricket and leadership acumen, Mithun Manhas is expected to steer the BCCI in a new direction, bringing fresh perspectives to the administration of Indian cricket.
