Kanpur: In a significant step toward global innovation, IIT Kanpur and New Mexico-based NMexus™ signed an MoU on June 11, 2025, to collaborate in clean energy, AI, aerospace, quantum computing, cybersecurity, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. The partnership aims to foster joint research and commercialization, linking India’s top engineering minds with New Mexico’s innovation ecosystem.
IIT Kanpur Director Manindra Agrawal emphasized the institution’s dedication to global collaborations addressing key challenges like sustainability, technology, and healthcare. NMexus™, a non-profit SPV, will back the initiative through its Mesa del Sol innovation centre, projected to support 40 companies annually, create 1,500 jobs, and contribute $400 million to New Mexico’s economy over five years.
Amar Vakil, Executive Director of NMexus, called the collaboration a foundation for global cooperation in science and economic development. The MoU reinforces shared goals of sustainable progress through cutting-edge technology and cross-border research.
