Lucknow — The Lucknow Police Commissionerate has arrested a man named Suryabhan Nishad for allegedly establishing a physical relationship with a woman under the false promise of marriage and misbehaving inappropriately with her sister.
According to police sources, the case (FIR No. 171/2001 under Section 376 IPC) was initially registered at Madeyganj Police Station on the complaint of the victim. She stated that on 04-05 May 2025, the accused deceived her into a physical relationship by promising marriage and also used vulgar language and behaved indecently with her sister.
Upon receiving specific intelligence, the police conducted a raid on May 5, 2025, and arrested the accused, Suryabhan Nishad, son of Mugariya Nishad, a native of Ranipur Babu, Post Kachhiya, District Basti. At the time of his arrest, he was staying at Room No. 517, TG Hostel, Khadra, Lucknow. The accused, aged around 29, confessed to the charges during initial interrogation.
The arrest was carried out by a team from Madeyganj Police Station led by Inspector Vinod Kumar along with Constables from Kurbanha Outpost, Devgawan. Legal proceedings have been completed, and the accused has been presented before the Hon’ble Court. The police are also investigating his past criminal record for further details.
