A New Journey for Harnaaz Sandhu
Harnaaz Sandhu, crowned Miss Universe in 2021, is the third Indian to win the prestigious title, following Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. Her journey began with local pageantry, winning Femina Miss India Punjab in 2019 before becoming a semifinalist in the Femina Miss India 2019 competition. Born in Gurdaspur, Punjab, in 2006, she spent her early years in England before returning to India and settling in Chandigarh. Before her Miss Universe victory, Sandhu was pursuing a master’s degree in public administration.
Harnaaz Joins the Baaghi Franchise
Baaghi 4, directed by A. Harsha, marks the latest installment in the action-packed Baaghi franchise, known for its high-octane stunts and gripping storytelling. The series has been a major success since its debut in 2016. Harnaaz Sandhu’s inclusion as the “female rebel” adds a fresh dimension to the film, which is already generating excitement among fans. She will share the screen with Tiger Shroff and Sonam Bajwa, who was recently announced as another lead in the movie.
Baaghi: A Thrilling Legacy
The Baaghi series has consistently pushed the boundaries of action filmmaking in Bollywood:
- Baaghi (2016): Directed by Sabbir Khan, the inaugural film featured Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, drawing inspiration from the Telugu film Varsham and the Indonesian action thriller The Raid: Redemption.
- Baaghi 2 (2018): Directed by Ahmed Khan, the sequel was a remake of the Telugu film Kshanam, with Disha Patani joining Shroff. The film also featured an ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, and Prateik Babbar.
- Baaghi 3 (2020): Also helmed by Ahmed Khan, this edition was partly based on the Tamil film Vettai, starring Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, and Shraddha Kapoor in pivotal roles.
