Rashtriya Lok Dal

Lucknow: In a bid to engage the youth and provide them with hands-on political experience, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is set to launch the Sarathi Internship Program in January 2025. This initiative will offer young individuals from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh the opportunity to work directly with Jayant Chaudhary, the RLD leader, as well as party MPs and MLAs from both states.

The Sarathi Internship Program is designed to run for three months, from January to March 2025. It aims to provide participants, aged 21 to 30, with valuable exposure to the workings of legislative and executive processes, political campaigning, and public policy. Interns will gain experience in various aspects of politics, including social media strategies and political research, while being involved in social service initiatives.

Key Opportunities

Interns will work closely with RLD leaders, both in offices based in Delhi, Lucknow, and Jaipur, and engage in fieldwork around the party’s constituencies in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The program will not only provide political insight but also offer practical skills, potentially opening doors for future employment in public service and political roles.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the program, applicants must be graduates in social sciences, arts, development studies, or law. Additional requirements include good research and writing skills, as well as computer proficiency. The party has noted a strong interest in the program from young people across Uttar Pradesh, especially from cities such as Lucknow, Bareilly, Hardoi, and Shahjahanpur.

Statements from RLD Leaders

Trilok Tyagi, National General Secretary of RLD, emphasized that the initiative would provide youth with an educational experience, enabling them to observe how MPs and MLAs manage their work in their constituencies. He highlighted the potential for career advancement through this program, with some interns possibly securing jobs and advancing into public service roles.

Ankur Saxena, RLD spokesperson, added that the internship would cover critical areas such as political campaigning, public policy, and legislative processes, offering a comprehensive learning experience for young aspirants.

The Sarathi Internship Program aligns with RLD’s commitment to involving the younger generation in politics and governance. By providing a platform for hands-on learning, the program is expected to equip the youth with skills that can help them grow professionally and contribute to the socio-political development of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
