Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to make biodiversity and nature conservation along with religious faith a major theme during Mahakumbh 2025. There is a deep connection between nature and religion in Indian culture, and a Bird Festival will be organized with the aim of spreading this principle through Mahakumbh.
Initiative towards conservation of nature and wildlife
According to the government’s plan, ‘Bird Festival’ will be organized on February 1-2 in Mahakumbh 2025, which aims to increase awareness among the youth towards conservation of wildlife and nature. The event will highlight the importance of biodiversity by bringing nature lovers and environmentalists on one platform. Under this initiative, the importance of wetlands of Prayagraj district, rich in 90 species of birds, will also be prominently brought to the fore.
Eco tourism will get a boost
Apart from this, the Bird Festival is expected to promote eco tourism. Along with sharing information about the wildlife reserves and sanctuaries of the state, UP Tourism and Forest Department will jointly develop a circuit based on the natural resources of the state. This effort will not only take steps towards environmental conservation, but will also increase the number of tourists in the state.
Theme of Mahakumbh: Faith, Nature and Climate Change
The main theme of Mahakumbh 2025 will be ‘Kumbh’s Faith, Nature Conservation and Climate’. Under this, panel discussions and discussions will be organized with national and international level experts. Also, saints will also be made a part of this discussion. Students of local educational institutions will also get an opportunity to participate in this program. A photo exhibition and site visit on nature conservation, ornithology and wildlife tourism have also been planned in the event.
Message of environmental conservation with Kumbh
