Bahraich: DGP Prashant Kumar has held a review meeting after the Bahraich violence in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. In which he has summoned the report of the responsible policemen and officers. DGP Prashant Kumar has also discussed with the officials about law and order after the violent incidents that happened earlier. The officers joined him through video conferencing. He has ordered the senior officers to take action by fixing the accountability of the officers and policemen responsible for negligence. There has also been a discussion about maintaining law and order and peace during the upcoming festivals. All ADG Zones and ADG Law and Order, STF Chief Amitabh Yash also joined the meeting through Virtual Conferencing during this time.
During this, the DGP told the officers that the riot control scheme should be updated. The concerned magistrates should be included in the teams. The police force should be kept ready to deal with such a situation at all times. Their rehearsals should be done from time to time. What to do in case of riots? Every policeman should know about this. Before any event, there should be a police briefing. Police should not be put on duty without giving information.
Policemen should be put on duty only after doing a complete assessment and learning the tricks of dealing with the crowd. Police should have complete information about the routes of processions, population etc. Police should be sent to the field only after identifying sensitive places and giving them binoculars and modern weapons. Coordination should be made among all sections of the area.
Civil volunteers should be given responsibility
Ward members, village heads, village committees and watchmen should also be given responsibility. Immediate action should be taken against those giving inflammatory speeches and spoiling the atmosphere. Peace committees and peace committees should be formed. In which civil volunteers should be included. Continuous flag marches and patrolling should be done in sensitive areas.
The number of trips of 112 vehicles should be increased. Religious places should be monitored. Even posters and banners should be thoroughly checked.
