Youth Educated on Freedom Movement and Martyrs’ Contributions

Lucknow: The spirit of patriotism and remembrance resonated among young students as they engaged in a series of activities designed to educate them about India’s freedom movement and the invaluable contributions of its martyrs. Through quizzes, poetry recitations, and slogan competitions, students actively participated in commemorating the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. The initiative aims to instill a sense of national pride and historical awareness among the youth.

The program has witnessed overwhelming participation from students across various institutions. As part of the ongoing campaign, tomorrow will feature an open discussion and a theatrical presentation on World Theatre Day, further amplifying the significance of the freedom movement and its portrayal through performing arts.

On the fourth day of the campaign, Guru Nanak Girls Degree College and Techno Group of Institutions hosted the program, attracting over 300 students who enthusiastically took part in a quiz and explored an exhibition dedicated to India’s revolutionary heroes. The event paid tribute to the unsung warriors of the independence movement, and the auditorium reverberated with the powerful slogan, “Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna.”

The highlight of the event was the reading of Bhagat Singh’s final letter to his younger brother Kultar, a poignant moment that left students deeply moved. The exhibition featured photographic and documentary displays on prominent freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrashekhar Azad, Durga Bhabhi, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, among others. Participants who answered quiz questions correctly were awarded prizes, further encouraging them to delve deeper into the nation’s history.

Dastak Manch, the organizing body, orchestrated the event with meticulous planning and execution. Event coordinators Alok, Aman, Yashit, Ayub, Khushi, Nikhil, Virat, and Vishesh played crucial roles in ensuring the program’s success at both institutions.

Students shared their thoughts on the event, expressing gratitude for the knowledge they gained. Sakshi Mishra from Guru Nanak Girls Degree College remarked, “Today’s quiz was very informative, especially in shedding light on the unsung heroes of our independence movement.” Fellow student Shristi Tiwari added, “Learning about Bhagat Singh’s inspiring life events motivates us to dedicate ourselves to our nation.”
