Bareilly: The Department of Humanities at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) organised a one-day ‘Spell Bee’ competition for first-year B.Tech students under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Anil Kumar Rai.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from newly admitted students representing various branches of the Faculty of Engineering. The young engineering students demonstrated their command of English spelling, vocabulary and language skills during the intellectual contest.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Archana Gupta, and Head of the Department of Humanities, Professor Anita Tyagi, were present on the occasion.
The judging panel comprised Assistant Professors from the Department of English, Dr Shiv Singh and Dr Pawan Yadav, who assessed the participants’ linguistic knowledge and performance.
The programme was jointly anchored by Dr Shinshupa, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, and Shaishav Mohan, Teaching Assistant in English. Their coordination helped maintain the flow of the competition and proceedings.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Anita Tyagi and Dr Raka Saxena, Assistant Professor in the Department of MSW, presented a rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’. This was followed by a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr Raka Saxena.
The organisers said the winners of the Spell Bee competition will be felicitated with certificates and prizes during the upcoming convocation/valedictory session.
