Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction 96% Complete; To Be Fully Ready by June 2025

Ayodhya: The construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya has reached 96% completion, with the grand structure expected to be fully ready by June 2025. So far, ₹2,150 crore has been spent on the temple’s construction, entirely funded through public donations, without any financial assistance from the government.

In a recent meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, General Secretary Champat Rai provided detailed updates on the temple’s progress and financial transparency. Over the past five years, the Trust has paid ₹396 crore in various taxes to the government, including ₹272 crore in GST, ₹39 crore in TDS, ₹14 crore in labour cess, ₹7.4 crore for ESI, ₹4 crore for insurance, ₹5 crore to Ayodhya Development Authority for planning permissions, ₹29 crore in stamp duty for land purchases, ₹10 crore in electricity bills, and ₹14.9 crore in royalty payments to different states.

A significant portion of the expenditure includes ₹200 crore paid to the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam, which is overseeing the construction of the Ram Katha Museum, rest houses, and three grand entrance gates spread across 70 acres. To ensure financial transparency, the Trust has developed an ERP system that records all expenses on a digital platform, accessible for monitoring.

Solar Tika on Ram Navami

A special event is set to take place on Ram Navami, where at exactly 12:04 PM, a solar beam will fall on the forehead of Lord Ram Lalla’s idol, marking the celestial event of Surya Tilak. Devotees across Ayodhya will be able to witness this moment at 50 designated locations via large LED screens. The day will also feature nine-day recitations of Valmiki Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas, Durga Puja, and a Yagna offering of one lakh mantras.

Progress on Temple Structures

While the main temple structure is 96% complete, the Sapt Mandir complex has also achieved the same level of progress. The Parikrama wall (temple precinct boundary) is 60% complete. Additional temples dedicated to Shabari, Nishadraj, and various Rishis are expected to be completed by May 2025, while the Sheshavatar Temple is on track for August 2025 completion.

Devotee Contributions

Devotees have played a vital role in the construction efforts. To date, they have donated 944 kilograms of silver, which has been tested for 92% purity and converted into 20-kg silver bricks for temple use. Details regarding ornaments, crowns, and offerings for the deity will be shared on the Trust’s official website for public viewing.

With construction progressing rapidly, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is set to stand as a monumental symbol of faith, devotion, and collective effort.
