Bareilly: Marking the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day, the Central Library of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University organized a comprehensive user awareness programme aimed at promoting reading culture, responsible use of digital resources, and understanding of copyright laws.
The initiative was held under the guidance and inspiration of Vice-Chancellor K. P. Singh, whose encouragement played a key role in the successful event. The programme began with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a welcome address by University Librarian Dr. Mahesh Singh. He emphasized that books are not only a source of knowledge but also the foundation of personality development and intellectual growth in society. He urged students to cultivate regular reading habits and make optimum use of library resources.
Deputy Librarian Dr. Subhash Chandra provided detailed insights into e-resources, e-journals, and digital library facilities, encouraging participants to embrace modern learning technologies. Dr. Vineeta Jain elaborated on the provisions of copyright laws, highlighting the importance of proper citation in academic work and the need to avoid plagiarism.

A book exhibition was also organized, showcasing a wide range of academic books, research papers, and reference materials across disciplines. Students and research scholars actively participated and pledged to uphold the value of reading while respecting intellectual property rights.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vineeta Jain, acknowledging the contributions of faculty, participants, and library staff. The event proved to be both informative and inspiring, fostering renewed enthusiasm for reading and academic integrity among attendees.
