Lucknow: Extensive security arrangements have been put in place across Lucknow for the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination, with authorities deploying more than 1,600 police personnel to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the test.
The examination is being held at 55 centres across the city under a comprehensive security framework designed to prevent malpractice and maintain law and order. According to police officials, a total of 1,626 personnel have been assigned examination duties, including 55 inspectors, 255 sub-inspectors, 900 constables, and 300 women constables.
Senior police officials said that additional support has also been provided by the Special Task Force (STF), which has been tasked with monitoring sensitive locations and preventing any attempts to disrupt the examination process.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Babloo Kumar stated that all examination centres have been equipped with CCTV surveillance systems. The cameras have been linked to a centralized control room, enabling authorities to monitor activities at every venue in real time.
Apart from uniformed personnel, police officers in plain clothes and members of the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) have been deployed at examination centres to keep a close watch on suspicious activities. Station House Officers, Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police (ADCPs), and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have been directed to regularly inspect examination centres within their jurisdictions.

To strengthen security further, metal detectors and hand-held metal detection devices are being used at all venues to screen candidates before entry.
The recruitment examination is being conducted over three days in two shifts each day. A total of 135,936 candidates have registered for the examination in Lucknow, with approximately 22,656 candidates appearing in each shift.
Authorities have emphasized that strict vigilance, technological monitoring, and multi-layered security measures are being maintained throughout the examination period to ensure transparency, fairness, and a hassle-free experience for candidates.
The large-scale deployment reflects the importance of the recruitment drive, which is among the biggest police hiring exercises in the state and is expected to attract lakhs of aspirants from across Uttar Pradesh.
