Lucknow: 1995 batch IPS officer ADG Amarendra Kumar Sengar took charge as the new police commissioner of Lucknow. He held a press conference at police line. He said that immediate action will follow to tighten noose around cyber fraudsters. Getting rid of the problem of jam and taking immediate action on complaints will be a priority.
IPS Amarendra Kumar Sengar was on deputation for 14 years. During this time he served in important ministries of the Center. While doing policing at the international level, he also exposed many serious cases abroad. In the year 2004, he was posted as a war crime investigator in the United Nations Peace Mission. IPS officer Amarendra Kumar Sengar has served on important posts in the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defense.
He has also been the OSD of the Union Home Minister between the years 2017-19. Apart from this, he has also held high posts like IG in important central departments like SSB and NDRF. Sengar also has experience of working in departments like CBCID and Intelligence. IPS Amarendra Kumar Sengar is well aware of Lucknow as well as Uttar Pradesh policing.
He has served on important posts in various districts and ranges of Uttar Pradesh for a long time. He was posted as SP/SSP in districts like Muzaffarnagar, Jhansi, Unnao, Hardoi, Jalaun, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri Garhwal (now in Uttarakhand) and Chitrakoot. Apart from this, he has also been DIG in Gorakhpur, Moradabad and Basti ranges. He also served as IG Law and Order in Uttar Pradesh. ADG Amarendra Kumar Sengar’s career started as a teacher.
