Melodious Notes Fill SRMS Riddhima as ‘Komal Nishad’ Captivates Music Lovers

Bareilly: An enchanting evening of music unfolded at SRMS Riddhima as the vocal music programme ‘Komal Nishad’ showcased the talent of music gurus and their students, who mesmerized the audience with classical ragas and light musical compositions.

The programme began with an instrumental ensemble performance by renowned music instructors, including Suryakant Chaudhary (violin), Surendra (percussion), Anugrah Singh (drums), Vishesh Singh (guitar), Rishabh Ashish Pathak (pakhawaj), Deepkant Johri (tabla), Derrick Aman James (keyboard), Amarnath (tabla), Seema (sitar), Gaurav Sharma (harmonium), and Om Sahay (sarangi), setting a vibrant musical tone for the evening.

The vocal segment featured performances by students Trishika, Geetu Arora, Advika, Sonam Gual, Zara, Shreya Prabhjot, Mahi, Arnav Kanojia, Ayansh, Shaurya, Neelam, Anshuma Agrawal, Kavya, and Agrim, who won applause with renditions of songs such as Vishwa Jan, O Paalan Haare, Dil Hai Chhota Sa, and a classical Bandish in Raga Khamaj. Student Atishay Goyal impressed the audience with his soulful rendition of More Daro Na Rang Giridhari.

One of the highlights of the evening was a moving presentation of the famous ghazal “Woh Jo Hum Mein Tum Mein Qarar Tha,” written by Momin Khan Momin and immortalized by legendary ghazal singers including Noor Jehan, Mehdi Hassan, and Ghulam Ali. The ghazal was beautifully rendered by Dr. Vandana Duggal, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Vocal guru Priyanka Gwal and Satvik Mishra transported listeners into a nostalgic world with their rendition of “Aan Milo Sajna,” the iconic song from the 1970 hit film of the same name, penned by Anand Bakshi, composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal, and originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

Student Shreya Prabhjot charmed listeners with “Mohabbat Karne Wale,” while Priyanka Gwal delivered a heartfelt performance of “Kaun Gali Gayo Shyam.” Another memorable presentation came from Indu Pardal, who sang “Rahte The Kabhi Unke Dil Mein,” the timeless melody from the film Mamta, written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

The programme concluded with an engaging medley in which teachers and students performed popular Hindi film song refrains, leaving the audience spellbound.

Among those present were Dev Murti Ji, Founder and Chairman of the SRMS Trust, Asha Murti Ji, Aditya Murti Ji, Richa Murti Ji, Devisha, Guru Mehrotra, Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Shailesh Saxena, Dr. Rita Sharma, and several prominent citizens of Bareilly.
