Lucknow: In an exciting collaboration aimed at enhancing the quality of education nationwide, the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), under the Department of Personnel & Training, partnered with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and launched a ‘2-Day Training of Trainers (ToT) Certification Course’, taking place at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow on 25 & 26 October, 2024.

This event featured distinguished speakers, including former CBSE Chairman Ashok Ganguly and Head COE Prayagraj, DrAkhilesh Kumar. The Chairman of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow Sarvesh Goel and Principal Dr Prerna Mitra welcomed all the esteemed guests.

Master trainers Gunjan Gandhi, Joint Director ISTM and U.C. Joshi, TNA Consultant, equipped educators with essential skills to foster academic excellence. This course is being offered to the resource persons nominated by the CBSE. It has been conceived, designed and developed by the ISTM and CBSE Training Unit, targeting to train 15000 resource persons in a time span of 8-10 months. Around 75 highly experienced principals and teachers, carefully shortlisted by CBSE attended the Certification Course.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the programme emphasizes 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for teachers and school leaders. This ToT certification empowers trainers to mentor and support students and colleagues and aims to prepare resource persons for future Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) in CBSE-affiliated schools.

Both ISTM and CBSE recognize that today’s educators must go beyond simply delivering content; they must serve as mentors and facilitators to help students reach their full potential. The ToT Certification Course provides participants with advanced skills and techniques to create engaging, student-centered learning environments that promotes academic success. On completion of this course, the trained RPs receive a certificate of course completion and they are entitled for conducting an outcome-oriented Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) for CBSE affiliated schools across the country.

ISTM and CBSE invite schools and educators to leverage this professional development opportunity. This initiative by CBSE and ISTM underscores the commitment to creating an impactful and sustainable learning environment nationwide.
