Tel Aviv: Israel has agreed to a ceasefire with Lebanon. The agreement came into force at midnight (Israel time) on November 27. Israel’s Security Cabinet, the country’s top decision-making body under the government, has agreed to the ceasefire. Prime Minister Netanyahu said in his speech after the agreement that the duration of the ceasefire depends on what happens in Lebanon. On the other hand, Israeli fighter jets bombed several targets in Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Tuesday amid growing hopes of a ceasefire. These attacks were carried out ahead of the Israeli cabinet meeting. Efforts are being made to reach a settlement with US mediation.
