Administrative Meet Held in Bareilly District Court Ahead of National Lok Adalat

Bareilly: An important coordination meeting of administrative officials was convened at the District Court in Bareilly in preparation for the upcoming National Lok Adalat, scheduled to be held on May 9, 2026, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority.

The meeting was conducted under the guidance of District Judge Pradeep Kumar Singh-II, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Bareilly, at the court auditorium. Proceedings were led by Additional District Judge Uma Shankar Kahar, who is also serving as the Nodal Officer for the National Lok Adalat in Bareilly.

Addressing the gathering, the Nodal Officer emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure maximum disposal of pending cases during the Lok Adalat. He urged officials to identify and facilitate the resolution of as many cases as possible through mutual settlement.

Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) Jaya Priyadarshini, reviewed the status of cases referred by various departments. She directed officials to ensure timely service of notices, either through police administration or departmental channels, to expedite settlements. She also highlighted that a three-day special Lok Adalat will be organized prior to the main event, focusing on the disposal of minor criminal cases.

To enhance public participation, para-legal volunteers associated with the District Legal Services Authority have been deployed across the city to spread awareness about the benefits of Lok Adalat and encourage citizens to resolve disputes amicably.

The Authority has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers in both the special Lok Adalat and the National Lok Adalat to ensure speedy and cost-effective resolution of their cases.

The meeting was attended by Deputy CMO Dr. Pawan Kapahi, ARTO Vaibhav Sodi, BSNL Accounts Officer Arvind Kumar Sharma, Education Department representative Tausif Ahmad, BDA official Vinod Kumar, and Canal Court representative Brijpal, among others.
