Mumbai: Astrologer Ajit V Khawad has little patience for the generic remedies flooding social media and even less patience for the idea that one video can apply to everyone watching it. That is the reason he stays away from viral astrology content.
He was blunt about why he avoids chasing an online following. “I want to make my identity on my own terms. But you can see there are so many videos on YouTube; you can’t follow them because every person’s kundali is different, every person’s kundali has a different planet, and people follow it,” he said.
He has seen the consequences firsthand. “My clients also followed it, but later they got worried and asked me. Every person’s kundali and immune system is different,” he said.
According to him, most of that content isn’t really trying to help anyone. “They have only one intention, that they watch our videos and call us. This is their intention. And this general remedy should never be used, as it doesn’t work,” he said.
For Ajit, one-size-fits-all advice simply cannot work. “I will make a prediction according to your kundali. I like rasgulla and you like gulab jamun, so how will I get both of our tastes? So these things should never be followed,” he said.
He also clarified what he believes his role actually is. “My job is to guide. I am not God. Whatever is written by Brahma, I can’t change it, but its effect I can reduce. My remedy is I will stop the medicines, and I won’t spend a single rupee on that,” he said.
He shared one example of what that guidance looks like in practice. “I have a client; his daughter called. Both father and daughter are my clients. She said, Uncle, my father has got it in his mind that I am sick, so he is getting tests done and getting worried. I talked to them; I showed them the remedy without money. I said, ‘Do this.’ And today he is 100% okay,” he said.
Looking back on everything, Ajit summed up what he believes actually outlasts a person. “If money is green, then reputation is evergreen. People still remember my father because he left goodwill. They also remember my grandfather because he left goodwill,” he said.
