Tokyo : Lionsgate has officially launched a worldwide casting search for its highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the iconic manga and anime series, Naruto. The studio is currently focusing its search on the three central figures of Team 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. Auditions for supporting roles and additional characters are expected to follow in later phases.

Based on Masashi Kishimoto’s legendary manga, Naruto follows a spirited young ninja who seeks recognition from his village and aspires to become the Hokage—the community’s ultimate leader and protector. Destin Daniel Cretton has been tapped to both write and direct the Hollywood feature.
