Senior Academic Leader to Also Continue as Head and Dean of Faculty of Agriculture
Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has announced a significant academic and administrative appointment with the designation of Prof. Upendra Kumar as the new Head of the Department of Plant Science.
The appointment has been made in compliance with an order issued by the Higher Education Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and came into effect on July 6, 2026.
Prof. Upendra Kumar is a distinguished academician with extensive experience in teaching, research, and university administration. Prior to this appointment, he had already been playing an important role in the university’s academic and administrative framework.
With the new assignment, Prof. Kumar will continue to hold the responsibilities of Head of the Faculty of Agriculture as well as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, making him responsible for three key academic leadership positions simultaneously. University officials described the decision as a reflection of his academic expertise, leadership abilities, and administrative competence.
Known for his significant contributions to the field of Plant Science, Prof. Kumar has been actively involved in advancing agricultural education and research. His work has earned recognition within academic circles, and he is regarded as one of the university’s experienced scholars in the discipline.
