Lucknow: In an effort to help tax professionals navigate the newly launched e-filing system for appeals, the GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), Lucknow Bench, in collaboration with the U.P. GST Appellate Tribunal Bar Association (UPGBA), organized an online workshop on the electronic filing of appeals before the Tribunal.
The webinar brought together judicial and technical members of the GSTAT Lucknow Bench, including Judicial Members Santosh Kumar Srivastava and Narendra Kumar, Technical Member (Centre) Alok Chopra, and Technical Member (State) Arvind Kumar. Senior tribunal officials and representatives from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) also participated in the session.
Addressing the participants, UPGBA President CA Kumar Saurav said the workshop was organized in view of the June 30, 2026 deadline for filing appeals before GSTAT and the challenges professionals have been facing while using the new digital platform.

The technical session was led by CA Rishabh Mishra, who provided a detailed demonstration of the e-filing process. Experts from NIC also addressed technical issues and queries raised by participants, helping users better understand the portal and its functionalities.
The webinar attracted around 200 tax professionals from Uttar Pradesh as well as several other cities across India, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Vijayawada, and Salem. Participants welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely and practical step that would support accurate and hassle-free filing of appeals before the Tribunal.
Officials said such awareness and training programmes are expected to play an important role in ensuring smooth adoption of the GSTAT’s digital filing system while improving efficiency and accessibility in the appellate process.
