Minister Reviews Progress of Welfare Schemes for Differently-Abled and Backward Classes in Bareilly

Bareilly: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Class Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Narendra Kashyap, chaired a review meeting at the Circuit House in Bareilly to assess the implementation and progress of welfare schemes being run by the two departments across the Bareilly Division.

The meeting was attended by divisional and district-level officials of the Backward Class Welfare Department and the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. A detailed review of various government programmes and beneficiary-oriented schemes was conducted during the session.

Addressing the officials, the minister emphasized the need to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely, transparent, and effective manner. He directed officers to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and focus on the efficient implementation of programmes aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of backward classes and persons with disabilities.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive development, Kashyap said special attention must be given to schemes that promote education, accessibility, and empowerment for differently-abled citizens. He also announced that a new initiative for the distribution of e-tricycles to differently-abled school-going girls will be launched soon. The scheme is expected to significantly improve mobility and educational access for beneficiaries.

The minister reviewed ongoing projects, sought updates on key welfare initiatives, and instructed officials to address implementation challenges promptly to maximize the impact of government programmes.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director of Social Welfare, divisional and district officials of the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and other concerned officers.

Officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring effective delivery of welfare services and enhancing outreach among eligible beneficiaries across the region.
